How I came to work with sound

When I first started working with sound twenty something years ago, I used a Tibetan bowl that I had bought in a street market in Nepal many years before. I didn’t really know what it was for, and understood that it could be filled with water or rice and placed in the temple. When I attended my first sound healing workshop with Jonathan Goldman I learnt what it was. It seemed that I had had this instrument waiting for me. During this important workshop I made a pledge to become a sound healer and work with sacred sounds.

Next I bought some aluminium tuning forks used to balance the two sides of the brain. Then as I began to learn and progress along my chosen path, I discovered the amazing Paiste Universal gong, which I use to this day.

And so I began to collect instruments that could be used for sound healing. But the day I heard a crystal bowl for the first time, that was it. Love at first sound!
